Registered Retirement Income Fund - RRIF

What does it mean?
A fund that is available to RRSP holders. Tax is deferred however an investor in an RRIF must withdraw a certain amount each year, and pay tax on it.

In Other Words...
The plan is designed to provide a constant cash flow through the years of retirement. Because RRSPs must be de-registered by age 69, converting an RRSP into an RRIF at this time can provide another vehicle for tax deferral.
